Bibles = Sewing Machines

  • India Bible Literature makes Bibles available in India for a percentage of the printing cost to guarantee they will be valued and used and not simply taken for free and sold for the waste paper value.
  • For every 66 Bibles printed, one sewing machine can be provided from the money generated from the Bibles.
  • By providing a treadle sewing machine for a destitute woman in India, you can enable her to provide for the needs of her family and children.
  • A gift of $200 provides 66 Bibles and one sewing machine.
  • A gift of $400 provides 132 Bibles and two sewing machines.
  • A gift of $1,000 provides 330 Bibles and five sewing machines.

Bibles = Rickshaws

  • For every 100 Bibles printed, one bicycle rickshaw can be provided from the money obtained from the Bibles.
  • Struggling churches in India use the rickshaws to start small taxi businesses to generate funds to help support their ministries.
  • Help is given to needy families by providing work for men who are employed as rickshaw drivers.
  • Three to five rickshaws can make a small church self-supporting.
  • A gift of $150 provides 50 Bibles and pays for half of a rickshaw.
  • A gift of $300 provides 100 Bibles and one rickshaw.
  • A gift of $600 provides 200 Bibles and two rickshaws.
  • A gift of $900 provides 300 Bibles and three rickshaws.

    • Creates additional ministry through churches and individuals.

We had tremendous growth of the churches with new members being added on a regular basis. At least 30-50 new believers are being baptized every month, but we do not have adequate finances to support the new believers who have lost everything due to following Christ.

Because of a drought and an economic downturn in the Tea Gardens, hundreds have lost jobs. We do not even have support for new leaders who are establishing new prayer cells and house churches. About 220 villages are in real trouble.

In the past India Bible Literature has helped our ministry in many ways by supplying Bibles at affordable prices, training our evangelists in church planting, and providing materials for literacy classes.

However, the greatest need now is for more rickshaws and sewing machines so our pastors and new converts can generate ongoing income.
